What you need to know

Nebraska's fight against the national opioid epidemic and other co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders is being assisted with the formation of the Nebraska Opioid Settlement Remediation Advisory Committee. The creation of the Committee is a requirement of the national opioid-related settlement agreements reached with pharmaceutical distributors in 2020.

The settlement agreements determine the use of settlement monies received into the State's Opioid Recovery Fund. The Committee, equally comprised of state and local representatives from across Nebraska, will work to establish criteria for identifying needs and prioritizing effective responses.

Nebraska's Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health is the state's point of contact with the national opioid settlement administrator.

RFP

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to seek qualified, interested parties to submit proposals related to prevention programs and services specific to opioids in the State of Nebraska.

The Opioid Remediation Settlement Fund is intended to fund efforts that demonstrate the knowledge of and experience in the implementation of prevention programs and services that are directed at opioid use, and the potential to produce positive change in outcome measurements.
