The Family Advocacy Unit (FAU) is dedicated to helping families navigate the Children and Family Services (CFS) system.
The FAU serves as a supportive resource for families who currently have an open CFS case. The Family Advocate can help explain the child welfare process, clarify expectations and responsibilities, answer questions, and help families communicate effectively with CFS staff and service providers.
If you do not currently have an open CFS case but need assistance identifying community resources, the Family Advocate may also be able to assist.
Filing a Grievance
If you believe Children and Family Services (CFS) did
not follow child welfare statutes, regulations, or policy and procedures in your open CFS case, you may file a formal
grievance.
A grievance is a structured review process that is separate from the support and guidance provided by the Family Advocacy Unit.
