Medicaid is currently working on a major project to update all of its behavioral health and substance use disorder service definitions. The project includes reviewing current service definitions and comparing them to the Medicaid State Plan, mental health and substance use disorder state regulations, and the Division of Behavioral Health's Continuum of Care Manual.
Many parts of DHHS are included in this project, which began in early 2020 and is scheduled to be completed in 2022. When this project is completed, the goal is to have all Medicaid service definitions updated to align them with state and federal guidelines and to ensure the new definitions are a valuable resource to providers and consumers alike.
The following library includes information on the particular behavioral health services Nebraska Medicaid covers.
