Contract development is the process through which agreement language is constructed and delivered to Providers for review and completion. For a new contract for an existing Child Welfare Service; this process can be initiated at any time during the year provided that an emergency capacity need for the service in the requested CFS Service Area exists. Outside of emergency conditions, new contracts may be extended on January 1st or July 1st of a year provided that a capacity need for the service in the requested CFS Service Area exists. The Contract Monitoring Team evaluates applications from potential new Providers through review of information submitted by potential Providers during the contract development process.
