  • Exploring Adverse Childhood Experiences and Protective Factors - April 13 12pm-1pm
    • This webinar will provide a basic overview of child abuse and neglect, go over Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and discuss protective factors.
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid Training - April 14, 8:30am-5:30pm
    • The National Council for Mental Wellbeing teaches a 5-step action plan to offer initial help to young people showing signs of a mental illness or crisis, and connect them with the appropriate professional, peer, social, or self help care. This course is designed for adults who work with young people, ages 12-18 - teachers, coaches, leaders of faith communities, social workers, and other caring citizens. FREE to attend.   • Professional Ethics in Victim Services - April 16, 11am-12pm
    • ​Over the next year, Nebraska PATH will focus on promoting best and promising practices in serving survivors of human trafficking through the "Guiding Principles for Serving Survivors of Human Trafficking" training series. This training is part one of four free, virtual trainings to be offered this year during Anti-Trafficking Community Collaboration Meetings that focus on some of these practices.
  • A DHHS Overview of Nebraska's Child Welfare Prevention InfrastructureApril 21, 12pm-1pm
    • This webinar will detail the Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services' (DHHS) child welfare prevention infrastructure in Nebraska. 
  • Impact of Stress, Neglect, & Trauma on Infant & Toddler Development  - April 24, 9am-3pm
    • Dr. Mark Hald will present an overview of the impact and long-term effects of toxic stress on brain development. This in-person training will also discuss social-emotional assessment tools, IFSP/IEP interventions, and how to recognize developmental impacts on the infant/toddler. FREE to attend.   • DHHS Prevention Partner Programs to Support Children and Families - April 30, 12pm-1pm
    • This webinar will provide an overview of three major programs in Nebraska designed to support parents and families. ​

Families For​ever Trainings​

Families Forever is our post-adoption/guardianship service through Nebraska Children's Home Society (NCHS). These trainings are located across the state and are online and in-person trainings. They are free for our adoptive parents, guardians, and DHHS workers, other professionals are asked to pay $25 per session.​

National Adoption Competency Training (National Training Initiative)

The Contractor will s​​hare their skills and knowledge obtained from their adoption training to support and educate foster parents in their journey to help youth placed in their care obtain permanency. Ongoing training support topics will include:

  • Understanding and addressing mental health needs of children moving towards or having achieved permanency through adoption or guardianship;
  • Enhancing Attachment and Bonding for Children Moving Towards / Having Achieved Permanence through Adoption and Guardianship;
  • The Impact of Loss and Grief Experience on Children's Mental Health;
  • The Impact of Early and Ongoing Trauma on Child and Family Development, Brain Growth and Development, and Mental Health;
  • Positive Identity Formation and the Impact of Adoption and Guardianship;
  • Maintaining Children's Stability and Well-being in Adoptive and Guardianship Families; and
  • Promote and assist youth in the transition into adulthood.

Defensive driving course as sanctioned by the Nebraska Safety Council or similar agency before driving on behalf of the Contractor and transporting children and families for this Contract.

Mandatory Reporter Training

We are excited to share the newly released DHHS Mandatory Report​er Training​.  This training is intended for all community members, professional reporters, staff, and overall stakeholders.  The link includes the We Care framework as well, which is a 7-minute video to give the vision of the consideration of reporting.  The link to the full training is very engaging, interactive, and will take about 1.5 hours.  There is a completion certification at the end. Thank you to the Hotline and CFS Learning and Development team for putting this together! ​
