The Aging, Alzheimer's, and Dementia Advisory Council was created through state statute (§ 71-561 - 567) to examine:
(a) the needs of aging individuals and individuals living with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia, (b) the services available in the state for those individuals and their family caregivers, and (c) the ability of health care providers and facilities to meet the current and future needs of such individuals.
The Council is made up of fourteen voting members appointed by the Governor and five non-voting members. The voting members of the council serve two-, three-, or four-year terms. A voting member may be reappointed to one additional term of four years. The Council meets quarterly and follows the Nebraska Open Meetings Act. The Aging, Alzheimer's, and Dementia Advisory Council replaced two previous governor-appointed groups (Alzheimer's Disease and Other Dementia Advisory Council and Aging Advisory Committee) on July 18, 2026. The reports section includes reports from those groups. Agendas and minutes are for the new group only.
