Frequently Asked Questions

What if I was removed from Medicaid coverage before January 1, 2024?

When this change is put in place, there may be some members who were enrolled in Medicaid or CHIP while pregnant and are still less than 12 months postpartum. Nebraska Medicaid will identify those members and will reinstate their coverage for the remainder of the 12-month postpartum period if they are still residents of Nebraska.

Will my child be covered by Medicaid?

Yes, your child will be covered for the first year after they are born. They may continue to qualify for Medicaid in future years depending on their resources.  More information on child eligibility can be found online at: https://dhhs.ne.gov/Pages/Medicaid-Eligibility.aspx.

Do I qualify for any other State benefits?

Depending on your situation, you may be eligible for other benefits the Department of Health and Human Services offers. You can learn more about these benefits and see if you qualify at: https://iserve.nebraska.gov/.
