Lincoln – The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is announcing the upcoming launch of the new Economic Assistance Review/Recertification Application (EA-RA) on the iServe Nebraska Portal. This new feature involves several key functions that will provide a fast, secure, and easy-to-navigate process to help Nebraskans complete their EA-RA.

“DHHS is committed to delivering top notch services to Nebraska citizens in the most effective and efficient way possible," said Shannon Grotrian, Director of the Office of Economic Assistance. “This enhancement will add a quick and easy way for residents in need to submit their EA-RA."

A video outlining the upcoming changes can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCWQLeu6sUw.

The benefits of this new feature include:

  • New Application Process: The current paper EA-RA will be replaced with the new Eligibility Review Due letter. Once the letter is received, Nebraskans can access iServe Nebraska to complete their EA-RA.
  • New and Improved Look: The new EA-RA feature on iServe Nebraska has an overhauled interface, making completing the application more convenient.
  • Quick Access: The new Eligibility Review Due letter will feature a QR code to provide Nebraskans with a quick and easy way to access iServe and review/recertify benefits.
  • Improved Efficiency: The recertification application on iServe auto-fills some information, making the review/recertification process faster and more efficient.
  • Multiple Devices: The review/recertification process can be completed using a computer, cell phone, or tablet.
  • Secure Validation: During the review/recertification process, Nebraskans will have the option to validate their PIN on iServe for added security.
  • Ease of Use for New Users: Everyone must have an account to use the review/recertification function on iServe. Existing ACCESSNebraska account information can be used to log in to the iServe Nebraska Portal.

The paper EA-RA application will still be available by request for Nebraskans who may need to complete their recertification application manually. In addition, DHHS staff will still be available to assist with phone applications as needed.

These improvements support DHHS's commitment to providing efficient, accessible, and user-friendly services. For more information, resources, and answers to frequently asked questions, visit the iServeNebraska Portal Training and Resources page at https://dhhs.ne.gov/Pages/iServe-Training.aspx
