LB 1173 Workgroup Constituents

The LB 1173 Workgroup works in consultation with key stakeholders including judges from juvenile separate courts and judges of county courts sitting as juvenile courts, private child welfare providers, individuals with lived experience in the child welfare system, the Nebraska Children's Commission, the Inspector General of Nebraska Child Welfare, the Foster Care Review Office, child advocacy centers​, law enforcement, and county attorneys. 

The LB 1173 Workgroup consists of the following:

• DHHS Division Director of Behavioral Health Tony Green (Interim) or the director's designee
• DHHS Division Director of Children and Family Services Tony Green​ (Interim) or the director's designee
• DHHS Division Director of Developmental Disabilities Tony Green or the director's designee
• DHHS Director of Medicaid and Long-Term Care Kevin Bagley or the director's designee
• DHHS Director of Public Health Charity Menefee or the director's designee
• The Commissioner of Education Brian Maher or the commissioner's designee
• State Court Administrator Corey Steel or the administrator's designee
• A representative of the State Judicial Branch to be appointed by Chief Justice Michael G. Heavican -- Corey Steel
  
• A representative from each federally recognized Indian Tribe within the State of Nebraska appointed by each tribe's Tribal Council or Executive Committee including:
• Omaha Tribe of Nebraska, Alexis Zendejas
  
• Ponca Tribe of Nebraska, Stephanie Pospisil
  
• Santee Sioux Nation, Danielle Lepointe
  
• Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, Miskoo Petite​
