Lincoln – Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) expects its current staff in Geneva to continue working without major disruption, as the Geneva YRTC campus undergoes the Vacant Buildings and Excess Land (VBEL) process.

VBEL is implemented by the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) and involves the sale and disposition of buildings and land declared in excess. At the end of the process, campus ownership will likely be transferred to another entity. DHHS will work with the new leaseholder regarding utilization of the Administration Building.

DHHS currently employs 37 staff in Geneva, mostly from the divisions of Children and Family Services and Medicaid and Long-Term Care. Staff will be notified when the VBEL process is complete and of any change of ownership on the campus. DHHS intends for its current staff to continue working on campus and to make the transition as smooth as possible.
