    Autopsy

    Nebraska Autopsy Program

    Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Division of Public Health (DHHS DPH) is excited to announce a continued opportunity for all Nebraska County Attorneys/Coroners. Funds will be available, as outlined below, to pay for autopies for suspected opioid or other drug overdose-related deaths. Learn more.

    Toxicology

    The Nebraska Department Health and Human Services Division of Public Health has a Post-Mortem Toxicology Testing Program to assist Nebraska county attorneys with toxicology testing. The Post-Mortem Toxicology Testing Program is a FREE service that covers the cost of any suspected substance use overdose deaths. Signing up with this program will help Nebraska with substance abuse and overdose data and prevention. Learn more.

    • State Opioid Response - The program aims to address the opioid crisis by increasing access to medication-assisted treatment using the three FDA-approved medications for the treatment of opioid use disorder, reducing unmet treatment need, and reducing opioid overdose related deaths through the provision of prevention, treatment and recovery activities for opioid use disorder (OUD) (including illicit use of prescription opioids, heroin, and fentanyl and fentanyl analogs). This program also supports evidence-based prevention, treatment and recovery support services to address stimulant misuse and use disorders, including for cocaine and methamphetamine.
