Lincoln, Neb. – The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) reminds child care providers that they have until 11:59 pm on November 24 to apply for a Child Care Stabilization Grant. This grant, established by Section 2202 of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) signed into law on March 11, 2021, provides approximately $24 billion in relief funds to the child care industry, of which approximately $140 million has been allocated to the state of Nebraska. As of November 22, 2021, 2,025 applications for grants have been received and $88.4 million has been allocated to providers.
