The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families requires states to develop a program improvement plans (PIP) that addresses any areas in which the state did not meet Federal requirements. A PIP covers a two year time period. Nebraska successfully completed all of the action steps outlined in its first and second program improvement plans.
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Regional Office in Kansas City monitors the State's progress in completing their PIP through semi-annual status reports submitted by the State. Semi-Annual reports include a description of progress made during the reporting period. Annual evaluations of a PIP's progress are conducted jointly by the ACF Region Office and the State.
