Barbara Lacina is the Director of the Office of Economic Assistance in the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

Lacina has more than 30 years of public service experience spanning federal and state government leadership roles, including Regional Administrator for Region 7 with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Administration for Children and Families (ACF). She has held several leadership positions in Virginia and Iowa, managing statewide programs and advanced efforts focused on economic mobility, workforce participation, family stability, and community development.

Lacina holds a degree from the University of Iowa and has received numerous professional honors, including the Governor's Champion of Change Award, the National Child Support Engagement Association Emerging Leader Award, and the Office of Child Support Enforcement Leadership Award.​
