Lincoln – In preparation for changes to the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) process going into effect later this month, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will host additional forums for both providers and the public throughout the week. The meetings, which will be held through Zoom, will go through frequently asked questions and answer questions concerning the upcoming changes.

The upcoming provider meetings include:

  • Aged and Disabled (AD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) meeting with Netsmart
    • Tuesday, August 6, at 3 PM CST
  • Personal Assistance Services (PAS) meeting with Netsmart
    • Thursday, August 8, at 3 PM CST
  • Development Disabilities (DD) meeting with Therap
    • Friday, August 9, at 10 AM CST

Town halls for the public will also be held on Wednesday, August 14, and Tuesday, August 20, both at 4 PM CST.

The meetings will go over various topics regarding the changes, including how to deal with the addition of pre-set addresses, changes in locations for impromptu visits, the absence of physical addresses, offline mode, GPS calibration, signature requirements, the alternative verification process, and resetting passwords.

EVV is a process that allows providers to clock in and out of service appointments for personal care services using an application on an electronic device, such as a smart phone. Starting August 14, several changes will be implemented that will impact manual claims, as well as PAS and Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) claims.

The upcoming EVV changes come as a result of a recent State Auditor (APA) report showing that more requirements are needed to comply with federal regulations. DHHS is committed to working with all impacted stakeholders during this change to ensure that their questions are answered and concerns can be worked through.
