​​​​The Department of Health and Human Services administers and manages eligibility for Medicaid and Economic Assistance programs through ACCESSNebraska.

For Medicaid and Economic Assistance, you may apply on the ACCESSNebraska website using the following links: 


On June 1, 2021, DHHS announced it is no longer planning to implement the Heritage Health Adult Demonstration program. As a result, everyone who is eligible for Medicaid through expansion will automatically receive equal benefits, including dental, vision, and over-the-counter medications, effective October 1, 2021. 

There will be no change to who can become Medicaid eligible with this change. People who currently have Heritage Health Adult Medicaid coverage will not need a new Medicaid card.

As a customer, you can do the following on the ACCESSNebraska website:

  • Apply and submit required documents
  • Update information and report changes in your household
  • Complete renewals and reviews
  • View your current benefits
  • Receive text notifications from ACCESSNebraska about your account (Note: To receive text notifications, go to "My Account" and update your "Correspondence Preferences." You can also call (800) 383-4278 and speak to one of our social service workers).
