    LIHEAP Automatic Heating Payments

    In order to align with the receipt of Federal funds, DHHS plans to begin issuing LIHEAP automatic heating payments on behalf of eligible households during the week of December 5th, 2022. Eligible Nebraskans will receive a notice at that time. If you currently have a shut-off notice or are in danger of receiving a shut-off notice from your heating provider, please call (800) 383-4278 for assistance.

    Temporary Office Open in Seward

    DHHS has secured a temporary location for the local DHHS office in Seward. Beginning August 8, DHHS staff will be available to serve the public at The Forge, at 612 Seward St. Seward, NE. Staff will be available during regular business hours of 8 am to 5 pm. This is a temporary location while staff works to make repairs to the permanent location at 1313 285th St. which received significant storm damage in the June 14th storm.

    If residents need immediate assistance, please call 855-632-7633 for Medicaid or 800-383-4278 for Economic Assistance, or visit another local office​. Other office locations are available at ACCESSNebraska.ne.gov

    Your contact information must be up to date in order to prevent closure of your benefits.

    Report to the agency if you have changed your address, phone number, or email address. Submit an online ​change report or contact ACCESSNebraska at (855) 632-7633 to speak to a representative.

    We are transforming ACCESSNebraska into a new benefit application – the iServe Nebraska Portal​ – that will make it easier to apply for new benefits and services.

    We are still working on the new iServe Nebraska Portal. As you navigate through the new portal, some pages may look different; don't worry, it's all one site.

    • Create a new account or login with your existing ACCESSNebraska account. 
    • Manage your password and set your security questions using the new self-service capabilities. 
    • Continue to apply for benefits via ACCESSNebraska by clicking on the appropriate link.

    If you're already receiving benefits and wish to upload documents, extend your existing benefits, report changes to your situation, or manage your account, you may continue on to ACCESSNebraska using one of the links below. ​ 

    As an existing customer, you can do the following on the ACCESSNebraska website:
    • Apply and submit required documents
    • Update information and report changes in your household
    • Complete renewals and reviews​
    • View your current benefits
    • Receive text notifications from ACCESSNebraska about your account (Note: To receive text notifications, go to "My Account" and update your "Correspondence Preferences." You can also call (800) 383-4278 and speak to one of our social service workers).
