Lincoln, NE – On June 22, 2026, the US District Court for the District of Columbia ruled the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) approval of Nebraska's food restriction waivers be vacated.
Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) was notified today by the USDA to take action and is in the process of working with SNAP retailers to remove the restrictions on soda and energy drinks. Many retailers will require time to update their systems before the restrictions are lifted.
