Lincoln – The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Division of Medicaid & Long-Term Care will host its next Medicaid Listening Tour throughout April and May in communities around the state.
“The Listening Tour is a unique opportunity for our Medicaid members and providers to share insights and ideas to strengthen our program and help improve the lives of Nebraskans," DHHS CEO Dr. Steve Corsi said. “We appreciate everyone who has taken the time to attend these events and are excited to meet with everyone this spring."
During this year's Listening Tour, titled “Medicaid Insights: Navigating Changes and Progress in 2024," Nebraska Medicaid will host 13 meetings in 11 cities throughout Nebraska, along with two virtual sessions.
On this tour, the Medicaid team will share important information regarding the end of the public health emergency (PHE) unwind, review changes to the program that occurred at the beginning of the year, and share current projects focused on improving the program. Most importantly, the meetings offer an opportunity for those in attendance to speak directly with leadership from Nebraska Medicaid and the managed care organizations (MCOs) that provide most of the Medicaid services to most of our members: Molina Healthcare, Nebraska Total Care, and UnitedHealthcare.
“During our Fall Listening Tour, we had the opportunity to hear directly from Nebraskans about the Medicaid program. We brought back the information we gathered to further improve the services provided to Nebraskans," Matthew Ahern, Interim Director of Medicaid and Long-Term Care said. “At the start of the year, we made several changes to the program. These changes were made possible in part because of the input we received from our members, providers, and stakeholders. We value what Nebraskans tell us and are looking forward to what we will hear during our Spring tour."
