DHHS Begins Public Comment Period for Let Them Grow Act

Lincoln, NE – The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has released the final draft of regulations for the Let Them Grow Act and will begin receiving written comments immediately. A copy of the Notice of Public Hearing which includes the regulations can be found here.

The Department hopes to receive feedback from all stakeholders, including medical experts and individuals with lived experience. All comments received will be reviewed and considered equally.

Interested persons are encouraged to provide written comments via mail, fax, or email, no later than 11:59 PM on the day of the hearing. Comments may be faxed to (402) 742-2382, emailed to dhhs.regulations@nebraska.gov or mailed to:

In addition, a public hearing will be held on November 28 from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Lancaster Event Center – Lincoln Room at 4100 N 84th St., Lincoln, NE 68507 to accept verbal comments from interested persons. Participants are encouraged to bring a written copy of all oral comments to ensure the Department can fully consider all comments adequately.

Depending on the number of speakers at the public hearing, participants may be unable to provide oral comments. Residents are strongly encouraged to submit written comments. Comments provided through the regulation promulgation public comment process will be evaluated in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 84-901 et seq.) All written and oral comments will be equally reviewed and considered.
