Lincoln – On September 13 at 10 am Governor Pete Ricketts will be joined by First Lady Susanne Shore, Children and Family Services (CFS) Director Stephanie Beasley, and Nebraska Children and Families Foundation President and CEO Mary Jo Pankoke, to proclaim September as Child Welfare Workforce Development Month and highlight Nebraska's successes in child well-being.

This proclamation will take place in the Governor's hearing room and will be open to credentialed members of the media. Child Welfare Workforce Development Month is a nationally recognized month of observance designated by the Children's Bureau and other national agencies and non-profits. Several child welfare staff will be on hand to accept the Governor's proclamation and take photos.

Throughout the month of September, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will be holding Facebook Lives, highlighting teammates via social media, and acknowledging staff at offices statewide to show appreciation for those who work in child welfare and their efforts to provide necessary services to families and children in Nebraska.
