Area Agencies on Aging and other providers deliver a wide range of services to the community. These services promote health, safety, and long-term independence. Services may be available to you if you are an older adult, a person with a disability, or a caregiver.
On February 6, 2024, the Administration for Community Living released a final rule to update the regulations for implementing its Older Americans Act (OAA) programs. The new regulations took effect on March 15, 2024. Agencies have until October 1, 2025, to update policies and practices to ensure compliance.
Revised Program Instructions/guidance have been drafted and are ready for public comment. Comments will be accepted from December 16 to December 20 by email to the State Unit on Aging or by participating virtually or in person on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. CST.
