​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) provides funding and oversight for Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waivers, includes determining eligibility, providing service coordination for eligible people, monitoring services, and paying providers. DDD also oversees programs for people who have special health care needs and includes the State Unit on Aging and Medicaid State Review Team.​​​​

Nominate Those Making a Difference

​For the second consecutive year, the Division plans to recognize people, agencies, and employers who are making a profound difference. Winners will be announced during the March 2025 celebration of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. 

We want to hear from you! You can nominate in the following categories:

  • Individual Spotlight Award: A person with a developmental disability who has overcome adversity to achieve or exceed their goals.
  • Outstanding Provider Award: An independent or agency provider who excels in delivering services.
  • Community Leader Award: A person or group of people who have dedicated their time (paid or unpaid) to helping individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Creative Employer Award: A community employer who employs individuals with developmental disabilities.

Waiver Public Comment Period: January 13 - February 13, 2025

Pursuant to 42 C.F.R. §441.304(f), the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is required to give public notice related to the state's plan to amend the 1915(c) Medicaid Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Comprehensive Developmental Disabilities Services (NE.4154), the Developmental Disabilities Day Services Waiver for Adults (NE.0394), Family Support (NE 2366) and the Aged and Adult and Children with Disabilities (NE.0187) waivers. The 30-day public comment period is January 13 - February 13, 2025.
