Courtney Miller, Director,
Division of Developmental Disabilities

Courtney Miller is the Director of the Division of Developmental Disabilities for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). She was appointed by Governor Pete Ricketts, effective December 7, 2015.

Courtney had served as Acting Director of the division for approximately three months before being named the permanent Director. She joined DHHS in 2008 and has worked in a variety of capacities in the Division of Medicaid and Long-Term Care, including Deputy Director for the Programs Section, Administrator I and Program Specialist.

Before joining DHHS, Courtney worked at the Nebraska State Patrol as a Records Technician and the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services as a Unit Case Manager and worker. She began her career at the Iowa Department of Human Services as an Income Maintenance Worker.

Courtney holds a bachelor's degree in Social Work from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa, and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She has been recognized as a DHHS and Nebraska Department of Correctional Services Employee of the Year.

Courtney and her husband Chris live in Lincoln with daughters Bailey and Josie. She enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.
