The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) provides funding and oversight for Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waivers. This includes determining eligibility, providing service coordination for eligible people, monitoring services, and paying providers.
DDD also oversees programs for people who have special health care needs.
Eliminating the Developmental Disabilities Waitlist
In March 2024, Governor Jim Pillen joined the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) to announce a plan to eliminate the wait for developmental disabilities services to better support Nebraskans with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
