Permit holders must have a delegated dispensing agreement, and only dispense dialysis drugs or devices from an approved formulary​​. It is the responsibility of the delegating pharmacist to conduct training approved by the board.

Permits can be amended when the delegating pharmacist changes or when the name of the entity changes.

An inspection needs to be performed prior to issuing a delegated dispensing permit and annually thereafter.

NOTE: Veterinarians, certified nurse midwives, certified registered nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants cannot dispense under this type of license.

Long-term care automated pharmacy means a designated area in a long-term care facility where an automated medication system is located. The Long-term care automated pharmacy stores medications for dispensing from a medical order to residents in said long-term care facility. The Long-term care automated pharmacy is installed and operated by a Nebraska licensed pharmacy.

Inspections – Long-term care automated dispensing pharmacies are inspected prior to issuing the permit.  They are required to submit an annual Pharmacy Quality Assurance Report (PQAR) from the date they are first inspected.

The remote pharmacy must be at least 10 miles from the nearest pharmacy when it is issued the license. It is staffed by Nebraska certified pharmacy technicians. The Pharmacy Practice Act defines remote dispensing as using remote supervision. A real-time audiovisual communication system used by a Nebraska licensed pharmacist is used to supervise the pharmacy technician. Nothing can be dispensed if that system is not working properly.
