We will return certificates to you in your prepaid envelope.

If no prepaid envelope is provided, we will return it by regular mail.

Viewing a Record

If not closed by state statute, you may apply to view a record of an event that occurred in Nebraska by completing all of the following:

  • Visiting the Vital Records Office
    Nebraska State Office Building
    301 Centennial Mall South, (First Floor)
    Lincoln, NE 68509
  • Showing a current government-issued photo ID (such as a driver's license)
  • Meeting the proper purpose regulations
  • Paying the non-refundable search fee(s) for the record(s) requested
  • Correctly identifying the record(s)
