Every year, thousands of adults become severely ill or even hospitalized due to vaccine-preventable diseases, with some cases resulting in unnecessary deaths.
Even if vaccinated as a child, immunity from some vaccines can diminish over time. Certain jobs, lifestyles, destination, and health conditions can also increase risk of infection, making it important to stay up-to-date with routine and seasonal vaccinations.
The VFA Program provides select adult vaccines at free or reduced cost to uninsured adults aged 19 and older. To participate in the VFA Program, clinics are required to also be Vaccines for Children (VFC) providers. VFA programs are partnered with VFC. This partnership ensures vaccine access to vulnerable populations, improving public health outcomes.
VFA providers are approved by NDHHS Immunization Program to address vaccination inequities and social vulnerabilities. If there is interest in becoming a VFA provider, please contact Abby Goss for further information.
