The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Office of Economic Assistance has published the Social Services Block Plan Grant plan on the DHHS Website in order to accept comments on the proposed state plan for the period of October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026. The proposed plan may be accessed at http://dhhs.ne.gov/Pages/Social-Services-Aged-and-Disabled-Adults.aspx.

The state plan is submitted annually to the Federal Department of Health and Human Services, which provides funding to the states to assist low-income individuals and families with home and community services.  The plan describes Nebraska's program, including eligibility requirements, and benefit guidelines.

Copies of the proposed plan can be requested by mail from the DHHS, Office of Economic Assistance, P0 Box 95026, Lincoln, Nebraska 68509-5026, or by phone at 531-207-3885.

All interested persons are invited to submit written comments or to attend and comment at the public hearing.  The public hearing information is listed above.

Written or email comments will be accepted from April 5, 2025 through May 5, 2025, by 5:00 P.M.  Email comments should be sent to DHHS.SSBG@nebraska.gov.  Written comments should be sent to the address above.
