Lincoln, NE – The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has launched the iServe Nebraska Portal's new integrated benefit application that will make it easier for Nebraskans to apply for Medicaid and Economic Assistance benefit programs.

As of today, Nebraskans can apply for benefits such as food, heat, electricity, healthcare, childcare, and other essential needs at the same time using the single, online iServe Nebraska application. If they create an account, Nebraskans can also save a draft of their application and return later without losing any information or having to start the application over.

“Thanks to the iServe Nebraska Integrated Application, Nebraskans will only need to enter their personal information once and will no longer have to complete separate applications for Medicaid and Economic Assistance," said Lisa Schafers, DHHS Chief Information Officer. “The application is intuitive, user-friendly, and available in English and Spanish," she added.

The new iServe Nebraska Integrated Application:

  • Is mobile-friendly, allowing applicants to use their cell phone, tablet, or computer.
  • Provides a more efficient way to apply for DHHS benefit programs – displays fewer questions when applying for multiple benefit programs.
  • Is customer-centered and accessible to all.
  • Provides self-service security options such as password resets.
  • Provides a safe and secure system for entering personal information and upload supporting documents.

In preparation for the integrated benefit application, DHHS launched the iServe Nebraska Portal homepage and the Explore Benefits tool, added a self-service account management feature, and made continual improvements based on feedback received from Nebraskans and community partners.

For more information, Nebraskans can access Quick Reference Guides, “How To" Videos, and answers to frequently asked questions on the iServe Nebraska Resources website.

PLEASE NOTE: During the first few weeks of the Integrated Application launch, Nebraskans may be redirected to ACCESSNebraska when they attempt to apply for benefits via the new iServe Nebraska Portal. We are limiting the number of applications submitted each day to allow DHHS to monitor how well the Portal performs and ensure Nebraskans are getting a high-quality experience.
