​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The purpose of the Nebraska Statewide Trauma System is to provide a ​coordinated multidisciplinary response system ensuring injuried patients receive appropriate​ care.  The goals of the trauma system are to provide optimal care for trauma patients, conduct trauma prevention activities, prevent unnecessary death and disability from trauma, and reduce cost.​  The trauma continuum of care involves injury prevention, pre-hospital, hospital, and rehabilitation services. 

Trauma Education Reimbursement Requests

Trauma designated hospitals and those seeking trauma designation may request reimbursement for trauma education such as ATLS, TNCC, and more.  Review the Approved Trauma Education document for the types of education that has been approved.  Please complete and return the form below.

Trauma Designated Hospitals

The statewide trauma program ensures Nebraska hospitals meet the standards to be designated as a trauma center.  Trauma designation is based on the resources a hospital has available and by successfully meeting regulatory requirements.  Nebraska hospitals may be designated as a Comprehensive, Advanced, General or Basic trauma center. 


To become designated or redesignated as a Trauma Center in the State of Nebraska complete the Trauma Designation Application and Questionnaire found below and return to the email address listed on the application. ​​

Statewide Trauma Advisory Board Meetings, Minutes​, and Members

The Statewide Trauma Advisory Board consists of 28 members that are appointed by the Director of Public Health.  The Statewide Trauma system is broken down into four regions with each region having a standing committee as part of the Statewide Trauma Advisory Board.  This Board advises the department on the trauma needs and on trauma regulations and statutes. 

Statewide Trauma Board meetings are open to the public.
