Lincoln – The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) at the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is excited to announce live listening sessions with Director Tony Green. DDD is transitioning from a time when individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) waited for services to a new way that will provide individuals with IDD access to specialized services when services are needed. The listening sessions are an opportunity to hear updates from the state about this transition and an opportunity to provide stakeholder feedback.
“I want to personally encourage folks to come, ask questions, and gather more information on waivers, such as the Family Support Waiver, and other specialized services they can utilize to support themselves and their loved ones," DDD Director Tony Green said. “These listening sessions are designed to provide information to individuals and their families seeking specialized services provided by DDD and an opportunity for DDD to hear from you."
DDD serves around 13,500 Nebraskans who are aging and/or experiencing a disability through one of our long-term support Waiver programs. DDD currently operates and oversees five Home and Community-Based Service Waivers: Aged and Disabled (AD) Waiver; Family Support Waiver (FSW), Comprehensive Developmental Disabilities (CDD) Waiver, Developmental Disabilities Adult Day (DDAD) Waiver; and the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Waiver.
