​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Increased income eligibility guidelines for child care subsidy

Effective August 28, 2021, income eligibility guidelines for child care subsidy have increased. Income guidelines for initial eligibility have increased from 130% of the FPL (Federal Poverty Level) to 185% of the FPL and income guidelines for redetermination eligibility have increased from 185% of the FPL to 200% of the FPL.

This pilot program is being implemented as part of Legislative Bill (LB) 485, which was signed into law by Governor Pete Ricketts on May 24, 2021. This pilot program will conclude on September 30, 2026.

Families with a household gross income over 100% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) will be required to pay a monthly family fee totaling 7% of the gross income for all the household's children enrolled in the subsidy program.

Families with income below 100% FPL are not subject to this fee.
