Public Records Requests
All public records or Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests should be sent to the DHHS Public Records Office at
DHHS.PublicRecords@nebraska.gov. Per state statute, any requests for data not on the Department's public domain are to be submitted via public records request.
Legal Services provides legal advice and representation for DHHS and coordinates all DHHS rulemaking activities.
Legal services provided include:
- Interpretation of federal laws and regulations, state statutes, and administrative rules and regulations for DHHS programs and facilities
- Representing DHHS in administrative hearings and some court cases
- Drafting and review of legislation, rules and regulations, contracts, and other documents
Regulatory services provided include:
- Managing a uniform rulemaking system and process for DHHS
- Providing technical assistance to DHHS staff in the development of regulations
- Scheduling and conducting all public hearings on proposed rulemaking
