Application Procedures and Requirements

Credential Information for Military Spouses

PHARMACIST

Application for License to Practice Pharmacy

NEW APPLICATION PROCESS BEGINNING MAY 1, 2018 – Prior to submission of an application for a Nebraska Pharmacist license, individuals must have successfully completed the NAPLEX and MPJE examinations with scores of at least 75.  The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy will be determining eligibility to take the examinations.  Please follow NABP’s instruction on their website: (https://nabp.pharmacy)

EXAMINATION - requires the applicant to successfully complete the NAPLEX and Nebraska MPJE examinations with scores of at least 75.  Once the applicant has met this requirement, they will need to submit the Nebraska application with the required fee and any supporting documents.

SCORE TRANSFER - requires the applicant to request a NAPLEX score transfer report from NABP with a passing score of at least 75 and successfully complete the Nebraska MPJE with a score of at least 75. Once the applicant has met these requirements, they will need to submit the Nebraska application with the required fee and any supporting documents.

RECIPROCITY – requires the applicant to successfully complete the Nebraska MPJE with a score of at least 75. Once the applicant has met this requirement, the applicant will need to submit the Nebraska application with the required fee and any supporting documents.

FOREIGN PHARMACY GRADUATES - Must obtain the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Certification (FPGEC) through NABP and pass the required examinations.  Once the applicant has met these requirements, they will need to submit the Nebraska application with the required fee and any supporting documents.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

Application for Registration as a Pharmacy Technician 

All persons employed as a Pharmacy Technician must be registered prior to the first date of performing the functions of a pharmacy technician.  As of January 1, 2017, if you were registered as a Pharmacy Technician as of January 1, 2016, you must be able to demonstrate completion of a board approved state or national pharmacy technician certification program. If you were first registered after January 1, 2016, you must be certified within one year from the registration date.
