Approved Nursing Programs & Student Loan Act Information

The Nebraska Board of Nursing approves nursing educational programs that lead to initial licensure as an RN or LPN.

 

172 NAC 97 Regulations Governing the Approval of Programs of Professional Nursing in Nebraska
 
Approval is continued for those programs which continue to meet the requirements of the Board as determined by survey visits, annual reports, and such reports as may be required by the Board. Approval may be continued with or without Board recommendations and/or suggestions (172 NAC 97).

Student Loan Act
 
The Nursing Student Loan Act is a loan program for students enrolled in nursing education programs in Nebraska. Each loan will be for one academic year. Each student selected to receive a loan will be eligible for $1,000 per academic year not to exceed $2,000 total.
 
The loan will be forgiven when the recipient of the loan has engaged in full time nursing practice in Nebraska for the number of years for which loans were received. Students will need to apply through the financial aid department at their educational institution.
