NEWPalliative Care: The Nebraska Legislature recently established the Palliative Care Council. Palliative care is specialized medical care for people with serious illness. This type of care is focused on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness. The goal is to improve quality of life for both the patient and the family.

Healthy People provides science-based, 10-year national objectives for improving the health of all Americans. For 3 decades, Healthy People has established benchmarks and monitored progress over time in order to:

  • Encourage collaborations across communities and sectors.
  • Empower individuals toward making informed health decisions.
  • Measure the impact of prevention activities

Community Health Worker Training
What is a Community Health Worker? Community Health Workers (CHW) go by many different titles depending upon where and how they perform their work. The primary role of a CHW is to advocate, educate and connect.
