​Diabetes and Nutrition in the Latino Community: The Role that Nutrition Plays in Managing and Preventing Diabetes. 

This culturally competant webinar discusses diabetes treatment, and prevention option for Hispanics and  Latinos with diabetes, or are at risk for diabetes. The webinar was designed for healthcare professionals and community health workers, and includes nutrition resources from the National Diabetes Education Program. The Nebraska Colon Cancer Program has developed aColorectal Cancer Toolkit. This toolkit has been approved for 1.5 CEU’s through the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. The overall goal of the toolkit is to increase colorectal screening rates through education and screening practices.

The Every Woman Matters cardiovascular screening program, WISEWOMAN, has developed a Sodium Reduction Toolkit.  This toolkit will be available to providers as a Webinar and has been approved to offer 1.5 CEU’s through CNE-Net, the education division of the North Dakota Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.   The overall goal of this webcast is to increase blood pressure screenings and to improve blood pressure through sodium reduction.

The Nebraska Quality Improvement Project:

In this series of lectures, the participant will learn the basics of what Quality Improvement is and how they can apply the principles of QI in their workplace to achieve a better workflow and better outcomes for patients.  Every member of the health care team is responsible for quality improvement!

Instructions:  Please watch each of these videos in order by clicking on the links below.  When you are finished viewing all the videos in the module, click on the bottom link for the evaluation (there is a separate evaluation for each module).  When you submit the evaluation you will then be able to view your CE certificate.  (NOTE: These are NOT PEER REVIEWED but Nebraska nurses are allowed up to 10 non-peer-reviewed hours when renewing their licenses.)   In the upper left corner click on file, then print (or Ctrl + P) to print the certificate for your records.

This FREE 1.25 contact hour webinar explores the diseases associated with metabolic syndrome; the cost associated with those diseases, and provides suggestions for monitoring patients for metabolic syndrome.
