SIDS is defined as the sudden death of an infant under one year of age, which remains unexplained after a Infant sleeping in a cribthorough case investigation, including performance of a complete autopsy, examination of the death scene, and review of the clinical history. 

Experts cannot predict which babies will die of SIDS.  But YOU can take precautions to limit the chances of this kind of tragedy taking place.
