2012 Nebraska Radon Poster Contest Details
As an effort to raise radon awareness across the state, the Nebraska Radon Program holds a statewide radon poster contest for children 9-14 years old. Children with the top three posters will receive a state prize and will be sent to the National Radon Poster Contest, where the top four winners will receive gift cards between $400-$1000 and national recognition.
Contest Rules
Children ages 9-14 are eligible. Entrants can be enrolled in a public, private, territorial, tribal, DoD, or home school—or through a sponsoring club, such as an art, computer, or science club; scouting organization; or 4-H club. Posters should follow one of the following topics:

1. What is radon?
2. Where does radon come from?
3. How does radon get into our homes?
4. Radon can cause lung cancer.
5. Test your home for radon.

Submitting Posters
Posters were due by October 31, 2012 and should have an artwork submission attached to the back. Posters should be submitted to the Nebraska Radon Program, unless your local health department is holding a local radon poster contest. Contact your local health department to see if they are holding a local contest.
