  • Nebraska Hospital Association - The Nebraska Hospital Association represents Nebraska's hospitals and health systems. It provides the hospitals with state and federal legislative advocacy, health care trend and regulatory information, educational programming, communication and data reports.

  • American Public Health Association - This national association works to improve the public's health and to achieve equity in health status for all. They promote the scientific and professional foundation of public health practice and policy.

Public Health Leadership and Education:

  • Great Plains Public Health Leadership Institute - This is a year-long program designed to build and enhance the leadership skills of senior and emerging leaders in organizations whose primary mission is to improve the health and well-being of populations and communities. It is a public health leadership development for Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota.

  • University of Nebraska Medical Center/College of Public Health - The  college of Public Health offers the certificate of public health; professional degree in a maser of public health; and specialized academic degrees - master of science and the doctor of phyilosophy.

  • Healthy People 2020 - This report is a framework for prevention for the nation. It is a statement of national health objectives designed to identify the most significant preventable threats to health and to establish national goals to reduce these threats.

  • Nebraska 2010 Health Goals & Objectives - This report outlines a set of health goals and objectives for the state to be achieved by 2010. This initiative shares the national goals of eliminating health disparities and increasing quality and years of healthy life for all people in Nebraska.   • Nebraska 2010 Health Goals & Objectives: A MidCourse Review - This report summarizes the progress that has been made in Nebraska over the past five years in meeting 203 health objectives and sub-objectives targeted for achievement in Nebraska by 2010. (These objectives were originally presented in the Nebraska 2010 Health Goals and Objectives report issued in May 2002.) The Nebraska reports are part of the nationwide Healthy People 2010 initiative which seeks to achieve two overarching goals: to increase quality and years of healthy life and to eliminate health disparities for all people in the United States.
