Breastfeeding provides many benefits both to mother and baby including bonding time, cost savings, and better health. Protection, promotion, and support of breastfeeding are critical public health needs.
Although, many types of interventions have been implemented in the United States and elsewhere to try to increase breastfeeding initiation, exclusivity, duration, and more work needs to be done to improve the acceptance and practice of breastfeeding.
