Formerly called C.A.R.E.S., we are a statewide partnership of over 300 individuals representing 175 public and private organizations. Our partners are working together to prevent and control cancer and its effects on families, friends, and communities. Program History The NE CCCP received initial funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for Comprehensive Cancer Control in 2002. Funding has been renewed each year to continue the work of reducing cancer morbidity and mortality for the citizens of Nebraska. Goal The long term goal of NE CCCP is to reduce cancer deaths in Nebraska through the collaboration of public and private partnerships. We will accomplish this goal by: Emphasize primary prevention to reduce cancer risks Address public health needs of cancer survivors Eliminate cancer disparities to achieve health equity Promote early detection and appropriate screening Increase access to cancer care Nebraska Cancer Coalition (NC2)NC2 is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
