Nebraska Comprehensive Cancer Control Program

Welcome to the Nebraska Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (NE CCCP). Formerly called C.A.R.E.S., we are a statewide partnership of over 300 individuals representing 175 public and private organizations. Our partners are working together to prevent and control cancer and its effects on families, friends, and communities.

Program History

The NE CCCP received initial funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for Comprehensive Cancer Control in 2002. Funding has been renewed each year to continue the work of reducing cancer morbidity and mortality for the citizens of Nebraska.

Evidence Based Cancer Prevention Programs Request for Proposals - Applications are due January 13, 2017

The purpose of this award is to support six organizations in implementing cancer prevention and control projects listed in the Nebraska Cancer Plan (attached to this award). Comprehensive Cancer Control (CCC) is an approach that brings together key organizations and community members to write a plan to reduce the impact of cancer on a community.  Each award will be up to $10,000, and two of those six awards (of $10,000 each) will specifically be awarded to colon cancer prevention projects. Each proposal must be directly related to either an objective or strategy in the Nebraska Cancer Plan or be based on evidence cited in the plan.
