Nebraska Swimming Pool Operator Clinics

Conducted by
Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health (NDHHS),
or the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD)

What does being certified mean?
A certificate of competency means that an individual has attended an operator’s clinic and has passed the clinic exam.

Why should I be certified?
Nebraska regulations, Title 178 NAC 2, Operation and Management of Public Swimming Pools requires Class A swimming pools to be under the direct and immediate supervision of a certified individual and all Class B and F pools must be supervised by a certified individual who can be on-site within 60 minutes and is responsible for compliance with the regulations.

What is the cost?
Fees: $40.00 for NDHHS clinics and $60.00 for Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department clinics. Payment is required the day of the clinic. You will not be allowed to take the exam unless payment is made the day of the clinic. Payment must be made by check or cash.  NDHHS cannot accept credit card payments.

Is it necessary to pre-register?
All classes except those in Lincoln require pre-registration.  See PDF SCHEDULE for registration information. REGISTER ONLINE.

What if I fail the exam?
You may retake the exam at a later date, but it is treated as a new test and must be accompanied by the appropriate fee.
