Nebraska Swimming Pool Operator Certification

In Nebraska, every Class A pool (i.e., a public city pool) must have a swimming pool operator present.  He or she is responsible for all pool equipment, operation and maintenance as well as the safety of those using the pool.

Every Class B pool (i.e., a motel or apartment pool) and every Class F pool (i.e., a fitness pool) must have a swimming pool operator available within 60 minutes.

Swimming pool operators make sure the water is safe, both physically and chemically.  He or she keeps daily records of the pool including, among other things, how many people used the pool, chemicals used, accidents and pH.
