Physical Agent Modality Certification
Types of Certification
- Superficial Thermal Agent Modalities means hot packs, cold packs, ice, fluidotherapy, paraffin, water, and other commercially available superficial heating and cooling technologies.
- Deep Thermal Agent Modalities means therapeutic ultrasound and phonophoresis. Deep thermal agent modalities do not include the use of diathermy or lasers.
- Electrotherapeutic Agent Modalities means neuromuscular electrical stimulation, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, and iontophoresis. Electrotherapeutic agent modalities do not include the use of ultraviolet light.
