Nurse Aide Recompetency Testing
You will need to successfully complete both a written and a clinical examination. YOU MUST CONTACT ONE OF THE COLLEGES LISTED BELOW TO SET UP TESTING FOR A FEE DETERMINED BY THAT COLLEGE.
If your application is pending, you will need to take a copy of the letter from us telling you that you are eligible to test. If you are retesting, you may need to give them a copy of the screen print from our web site so their program personnel know that you are eligible to retest. To obtain this screen print, you may go to our web site at: http://dhhs.ne.gov/publichealth/Pages/crl_nursing_na_na.aspx. Click on "Accessing the Nurse Aide Registry".
You will usually complete both the written and clinical exams on the same day and you will know that same day if you passed or failed both exams. You have three (3) chances to pass each exam. If you fail an exam three (3) times, you will be required to retake the nurse aide course.
The college will then forward your test scores to the Registry and your record will be updated on the web site. We do not send out any type of licensure document or letter advising you that your record has been updated. You can check the web site at the address given above. It may take up to three weeks to get your grades posted once we receive them from the college.
