Advanced Practice Registered Nurse-Nurse Practitioner
Continuing Education
For renewal and as a continuing competency requirement, all APRNs must have 40 contact hours of continuing education in their clinical specialty area within the 2 years proceeding the renewal period. 10 of the 40 contact hours must be in pharmacotherapeutics. Documentation of meeting the continuing education requirement for renewal of APRN license meets the continuing education requirement for renewal of the Nebraska RN license. Acceptable contact hours includes those designated specifically for advanced practice nurses as well as continuing medical education. |
