Veterinarians Examination Requirements
Veterinarians in Nebraska must have passed the National Board Examination (NBE) or the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE). Applicants by Examination must also have passed the Clinical Competency Test (CCT) within the last five years, or the North America Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) within the last five years. In addition, all applicants must pass the Nebraska State Jurisprudence Examination.

APPLICANTS TO TAKE THE NAVLE: If you wish to apply to take the NAVLE through Nebraska, you need to submit the NAVLE Approval through Nebraska Application and the required application fee directly to the National Board of Veterinary Medicine Examiners (NBVME). In addition, you will need to submit the NBVME NAVLE Application and the required NAVLE fee directly to the NBVME. Instructions and forms for this process are online at www.nbvme.org. Nebraska Jurisprudence Examination
This examination is an open book examination and is mailed to the applicant with the application packet. The examination is based on the following Nebraska statutes and regulations, which are also enclosed in the application packet:
Uniform Credentialing Act;
Statutes Relating to Veterinary Medicine and Surgery;
Regulations Governing the Practice of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery;
Regulations Governing Mandatory Reporting by Health Care Professionals, Facilities, Peer and Professional Organizations, and Insurers;
Statutes Relating to Pharmacy (including statutes relating to medical records).
