A home health agency means a person or any legal entity which provides skilled nursing care or a minimum of one other therapeutic service which includes physical therapy, speech pathology, occupational therapy, respiratory care, home health aide services, social work, intravenous therapy or dialysis.
Licensure means: The Department has issued a license to operate a service in the State of Nebraska to an individual, government, corporation, partnership, limited liability company, or other form of business operation that is legally responsible for the service's operation. This service has demonstrated that it meets the care, treatment, and operational standards contained in 175 NAC 14.
Certification means: The service is in compliance with the federal requirements 42 CFR Part 484.1-484.55 and is eligible to receive payment under the Medicare program. The service must have a license prior to being certified in the Medicare/Medicaid program. Any Home Health Agency seeking certification is required to meet the Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs) prior to certification. This includes compliance with the OASIS collection and transmission requirements. OASIS (The Outcome and Assessment Information Set) is the data set for use in home health agencies.
