NOTE: All Board, Committee, and Council members are appointed by the State Board of Health with the exception of the Board of Emergency Medical Services, Nebraska Center for Nursing Board, Nursing Home Advisory Council, and State Board of Health, who are appointed by the Governor.

MEMBERSHIP & RESPONSIBILITIES
This information includes the process to become a board member, the difference between a professional and consumer or public member, what a board does, confidentiality and conflict of interest, and entitlements.
EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT AND CONFLICT OF INTEREST
Any person appointed:
- Will receive a per diem of $50.00 (except the State Board of Health per diem is $20.00 and the Board of Athletic Training per diem is $25.00) and reimbursement for any actual expenses incurred in the performance of Board duties.
NOTE: The Nebraska Center for Nursing Board does not receive a per diem. Members of the Nursing Home Advisory Council shall serve without compensation but shall be entitled to receive reimbursement for their reasonable expenses incurred in connection with their duties as members of such council from the Nebraska Health Care Association or the Nebraska Association of Homes for the Aging or such other association or group of nursing home licensees as voluntarily agrees to provide reimbursement for such expenses. No funds or state money shall be drawn upon to pay the expenses of administering this Council.
- Must avoid conflict of interest by excluding him/herself from any decision-making or action that may cause financial benefit or detriment to him/her, a member of his/her immediate family, or a business with which he/she is associated.

Applicants must meet the statutory requirements for the position of interest in order to be considered for appointment.
