Developmental Disabilities

A licensed Intermediate Care Facility for Persons with Developmental Disabilities means any facility where shelter, food and training or habilitation services, advice, counseling, diagnosis, treatment, care, nursing care, or related services are provided for a period of more than 24 consecutive hours to four or more persons residing at the facility who have mental retardation or related conditions, including epilepsy, cerebral palsy, or other developmental disabilities.

Certification means the facility is in compliance with the federal requirements 42 CFR Subpart I 583.410 – 483.480 and eligible to receive payment under the Medicaid program.  Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities is the term used for the federally certified facility.
